The Town Musicians of Bremen

November 15-17, 2013

Scott and I had been meaning to catch up with his friends (Phillip and Johannes) from Aachen, Germany while we were living in Europe.  We were able to visit with them briefly at Johannes and Eve's wedding back in October, but you know how weddings go- lots of family and friends to visit with so we didn't see too much of them.   So, we planned a weekend get together in Bremen, Germany- conveniently located halfway between Aachen and Vejle.  We rented an apartment for the 7 of us (Phillip and his wife Anna, their 1 year old son Hanno, Johannes and his wife Eve, and Scott and I) and spent the weekend exploring Bremen and catching up on life over delicious German beer.   It was wonderful to spend time with them and explore another new German town.

Here are some pictures from our visit:
Cruising around the town of Bremen.

The Town Musicians of Bremen- a Brothers Grimm folktale about a donkey, dog, cat and rooster who escape from their owners to become musicians in Bremen, and of course, live happily ever after : )

The whole gang- from left to right: Eve, Jess, Anna, town musicians, Phillip (with Hanno on his back), Scott and Johannes.

Charming city with lots of small cobblestone streets.

Mid afternoon beverage.

Phillip just really misses Scott!

Hanno with Uncle Scott!

Celebrating their "Office" anniversary.  I can't begin to describe what goes on at the "Office"... you must ask one of these three guys!

Our last morning.  Saying goodbye : (

We surely miss our favorite German/Dutch friends... but we are SO EXCITED that they are making the long trek out to California next June for our wedding!  Rock on!
